I've spent most (ok.....all) of today trying to sweep up this blog and make it a little prettier for all of you!  It seems that I'm going to have to put a little more effort into it than I had previously planned!  So, for now, please enjoy its bare and crisp appearance!

Today, on Phippsy's facebook page, I put out a request for those of you who have a little Phippsy in your home to send in some pictures of your piece(s).  So far, the beautiful Carol has sent in a before and after of a gorgeously crafted telephone table she had me redo for her.  It still needs a few touch ups, but is fitting in quite nicely in her home.  Thanks so much, Carol, for having faith in me, and for giving me the opportunity to work with something that is so special to you!

It's Almost Christmas!

I am going to LOVE Christmas this year!  Although preparations have had me a little swamped, I hope to get much done in these next few weeks!  Don't lose hope! I will post more very very soon!

ITS CRUNCH TIME!

Wow!  Are the weeks ever FLYING by!  I'm so excited to be a part of this year's Art and Craft extravaganza at Timothy Christian School in Williamsburg this weekend (Or 'Billsburg' as my adorable friend Heidi dubbed it!).   I will be bringing with me a few of my larger furniture pieces, and many, many frames.  I'll also have available my handmade+vintage Christmas cards and ornaments!  I'll be spending this week working on some new and adorable things I've found, and can't wait for you to see them!

Now here's a tiny peek at a few things I've finished! Enjoy!

The Rainy Monday. Or, How I Like My Eggs

Gross.  Its fall.  S'ok, though, that just means that in T- 25 days, my halls will be decked with artificial boughs of holly, and there will be much Christmas joy in my world!  On that note, I've just spent....some....of the weekend making Christmas cards.  I happened upon a few card catalogues filled to the brim with unbelievably gorgeous vintage cards.  I have 155 in total.  But, as they were glued into catalogues, with names imprinted on them, it is with a heavy heart that I report that I had to cut them up and re-design them.  What am I saying!?!?!  I LOVE that stuff!

On a little sidenote; there's nothing quite like spending a day with your favourite people eating McDonalds breakfast and watching Cars. Three times.

Finally thawing out!

It was a cooooold wet Saturday at the Pitt Street Artfest this weekend!  But it went to show that even in the chilly rain, our small city is alive with the arts!  We even had Jackie Gordon from TVs The Bachelor sit in for a portrait!

Moving on, here are a few of my past projects that I've done for my own home!  These were all done with a very  minimal budget and on a tight schedule! I hope you enjoy them anyway!

This Weekend!

Catch Phippsy at the Cornwall Regional Art Gallery's Pitt Street Artfest, Saturday, October 1st from 10am to 5pm.  Can't wait to see you there!

FINALLY!!!

Its funny how one day you wake up and you think to yourself; "I really, really, REALLY don't want to work for people anymore!"  But that in itself is not enough.  Some, of course, do stop there, and...well....just don't work for people anymore.  There are many more, however, that finish the though with; ".......So I think I'll just start my own business!"

HOLY HANNAH is it hard!  There are so many loopholes, bylaws, disappointements and just plain stressful, dirty, poorly nourished days....but, my friends, there is certainly something to be said for waking up each morning and being excited for what you are about to accomplish that day.  Besides, a very wise Egyptian man always told me; "nussing good isss ever easy".  He's right.

On that note, how about a few before and afters?
This is Irene before

Now she is a beautiful, sunny yellow!  Even her behind is finished!

Julia before
And after!
